The Builders Swimming Club
Club History and Affiliation
The Builders Swimming Club was established in 1971 and is proud to be a sub club of The Builders Club. Our club has a long-standing tradition of promoting swimming and fostering a supportive community for swimmers of all backgrounds.
Swimming Season and Schedule
Our swimming season begins on the long weekend in October and continues until Easter. We swim every Sunday morning, rain, hail, or shine, ensuring consistent opportunities for members and guests to participate throughout the season.
How to Join and Swim
If you are interested in getting fit or simply looking to enjoy swimming, we invite you to join us at the Dee Why rock pool. Participation is open to everyone, and you’re welcome to swim with us before deciding to become a member. Registration begins at 8:30 AM, and swimming commences at 9:00 AM for one hour.
Race Formats and Inclusivity
We offer 100, 50, and 30-meter races, all run on a handicap system. This means that swimmers of all abilities—whether fast, slow, or returning after years away—are welcome to join. Our club embraces all levels of swimming experience.
Fun, Points, and Events
Swimming at the club is enjoyable for all ages and abilities. We have a points system to encourage participation, and we hold a presentation day and annual meeting, which includes drinks and a meal for everyone.
Community and Competitions
Our club also participates in a local annual swimming carnival called The Black Swan, joining other clubs from around Sydney. Each Sunday provides a wonderful morning and a chance to meet new people, further building our community spirit.
Fees and Membership
Becoming part of the Builders Swimming Club is affordable, with a $20.00 joining fee and a $2.00 swim fee each week.
Join Us!
We hope to see you at the pool soon, where you can enjoy swimming, make friends, and become part of our vibrant club community.
